Act Two - Scene 8

I like this scene because the boys were set free and cleared of the charges. My favorite quote was "we won ! we won the appeal!" Lupe said this to all the families and all his friends who had been imprisoned. This was the best part of the entire play because they gained their freedom .

Do you think the whole case was a waste of time ?

  1. You questions here is so broad! I suppose it depends upon who would respond. Whose time would've been wasted? What makes it "a waste" (of no use) to someone?

Obviously we would agree that there WAS waste, as in months of freedom lost to the accused and incarcerated... But was the case ITSELF a waste? No. If the case did not exist, the boys never would have been set free.

I suppose I'm not clear on what you mean by "the whole case" as well as "waste of time"...

  2. I mean a waste of time as in the boys did no trouble and since their was never any evidence of them killing the man , going to court and having a trial was not needed.
